Rethinking Quality Assurance

This PhD investigates how intelligent systems can transform quality assurance in advanced manufacturing, moving beyond conventional inspection towards systems capable of interpreting complex production data, identifying emerging quality issues and supporting robust decision-making in real time. The research is concerned with building a more autonomous and responsive approach to quality, suited to increasingly complex, high-value and highly automated manufacturing environments.

Toward Adaptive Manufacturing Intelligence

The wider ambition is to develop a new generation of adaptive manufacturing intelligence that can evolve alongside products, processes and operating conditions. By embedding greater intelligence, traceability and learning into the quality process, the work aims to support more resilient production, accelerate continuous improvement and help enable factories that can understand and respond to quality at scale.
